He was arrested by the Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBN) during a special operation to prevent smuggling on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

He said that APBN intelligence members on duty in plain clothes became suspicious after seeing the accused Rustam Ali roaming in front of the airport tower building at 6 pm. At that time, when he was challenged, he kept giving irrelevant answers. He was later arrested and brought to the APBN office at the airport.
There the accused admitted that he was in possession of gold. When searched at that time, he took out 6 gold bars (696 grams) and 355 grams of gold ornaments with a total of 1051 grams or 1 kg 51 grams of gold from the accompanying bag. Md. could not show any valid documents of this gold. Rustam Ali. Preparations are underway to file a case against him under the Special Powers Act of 1974 at the airport police station. This official also said that on the occasion of the holy Eid, they have been conducting special operations to thwart the smuggling attempts of Kuchkri Mahal. In this special operation conducted during the month of April, around 6 kg of gold, mobile phones, liquor, cosmetics and a large amount of other dutiable goods have been seized and action taken as per rules.
